MenB Vaccination Programme 2026 to 2027
Information for Patients and Students
Community pharmacies will begin offering the MenB (Meningococcal B) vaccination from 20th July 2026 for the following eligible groups:
- Year 13 students born between 1st September 2007 and 31st August 2008.
- Individuals born on or after 21st July 2001 who are entering Higher Education or Residential Further Education (HERFE) for the first time in Autumn 2026.
The vaccination programme will run from 20th July 2026 to 31 March 2027.
Year 13 Students
Eligible Year 13 students can now book their MenB vaccination through the NHS National Booking Service, ahead of appointments becoming available at participating community pharmacies from 20th July 2026.
Eligible students are being contacted by the NHS via the NHS app, text message, or letter, depending on the contact details held. However, if you are eligible, you do not need to wait for an invitation before booking.
Students Starting University or Residential Further Education
Individuals under 25 years of age (born on or after 21st July 2001) who are starting university or certain residential further education settings for the first time in Autumn 2026 are also eligible for the MenB vaccine.
These individuals will not receive an NHS invitation but can self-refer and book their vaccination at a participating community pharmacy. This service opens on 20th July 2026.
How to Book
- Year 13 students: Book via the NHS National Booking Service.
- Students entering Higher Education or Residential Further Education: Use the NHS Pharmacy Services Finder to locate a participating pharmacy.
